Mr Key spoke to the students about having ‘Choices’ in life and to make sure students choose wisely especially when considering smoking or drinking alcohol. Mr Key also spent some time answering questions from students on his ties, portfolio and interest on student loans.
Mr Key also presented Mrs Helen Tina (Teacher Aide) with her New Zealand Educational Institute Scholarship which she had received to allow her to learn sign language. We congratulate Helen on her achievement and were thrilled that the Prime Minister could present her Scholarship to her.

What’s on in Drama:
Congratulations to K2 on their completion of their Drama Rotation. They were an awesome class throughout the rotation and should be proud of their efforts.
On Saturday the 2nd of April Rotorua Girls High School students competed at the University of Otago Sheliah Winn Shakespeare in Schools Competition, held at Rotorua Lakes High School. Shannon Dunn entered the five minute student directed section with a piece from “A Winter’s Tale.” Colette Waites played the conniving and sneaky beggar and thief Autolycus who robs Aleisha Aldcroft’s dim-witted character the Clown throughout the scene. After a well-received warm up performance at Rotorua Intermediate on Thursday the 31st of March the girls went on to gain second place at the regional competition. They faced stiff competition in their section and thoroughly deserved their placing.
