Rotorua Girls’ High School Board and Student Representative Elections 2025

Rotorua Girls’ High School Board and Student Representative Elections 2025 – Nominations Now Open

We are calling for nominations for both our 2025 Triennial School Board Elections and the Student Representative Election. These are exciting opportunities for members of our community and our student body to get involved in shaping the future direction of Rotorua Girls’ High School.

The School Board plays a vital role in governance, strategic planning, and supporting the success and well-being of our students and staff. We are seeking individuals with a range of skills, community insight, and a genuine interest in contributing to the continued growth of our kura. You do not need to be a school parent to stand for election as a Board member, but your nomination must come from a school parent. If you know someone who would make a strong Board member, encourage them to consider standing.

For more information or to request a nomination pack, please contact Kerry Airlie, Returning Officer, at kairlie@rghs.school.nz. Nominations for the Board open on 18 July 2025.

We are also seeking nominations for our Student Representative position on the Board. This is a fantastic leadership opportunity for students who want to represent the views of their peers and have a say in the important decisions that affect our school. All eligible students will receive a nomination form, and extra forms are available at the school office if required.

Key dates for the Student Representative Election:

Nominations close at 12 noon on Wednesday, 6 August 2025
Candidate statements (up to 400 words) are due by 12 noon on Wednesday, 20 August 2025
Voting closes at 4 pm on Wednesday, 10 September 2025

The voting roll for the student election will be held at the school office and can be viewed during normal school hours. A list of candidates will also be displayed at the office. Candidates may nominate a scrutineer to be present at the vote count, provided they notify the Returning Officer in writing before election day.

We encourage both community members and students to consider putting themselves forward for these important roles.

Your voice matters — and this is a meaningful way to make a lasting contribution to our school.
