Introducing our 2022 Head Girl - Alyssa Webster.

Now that I have your attention, it is I! Alyssa Rangimaewa Rose Webster
A proud descendent of many strong female leaders such as Kanea of Te Arawa, Hatamaria of Tūhoe, Mihi Kotukutuku of Te Whānau-ā-Apanui and Waimirirangi of Ngāpuhi. Their DNA courses through my veins and to be the head girl for 2022 gives me the opportunity to guide and inspire others just like my tupuna.
As I reflect back to year 9. I was fortunate to be given many opportunities, from being part of Raukura Kapa Haka, School Productions and the senior girls basketball team. Taught by the most experienced Kapa haka tutors and basketball coaches in New Zealand. They were instrumental in encouraging me to always help others and to always aim high.

So what do I bring to this role?
‘The courage of a dreamer, the innocence of youth, the failures and the foolishness that lead us to the truth. The hopes that make us happy, the hopes that don’t come true and all the love that ever was I offer this all to you.
Dreams are important but will remain dreams if we do not set goals and find support to help achieve them. The leader in me has the courage, the innocence of youth, self-motivation, humility and positivity.

Allow me to be your voice and work with Mrs Davis and our teachers who will be the backbone for us to achieve our goals and to ensure that we are better prepared for adulthood.

There is a legacy to be created in 2022. It is a legacy of success across the cornerstones of academic, cultural, sporting and leadership endeavours. It isn’t something I intend to do alone and it is my hope that every single student in Te Kura o Rautawhiri strives for excellence and makes our school better than it already is.
